If you are going to Florida, then there are lots of things for you to do. A lot of people find a Miami boat rental company, rent a boat, and then have no idea about what to do next. What you will find, however, is that in and around Miami, there is both fresh and salt water available, making it the perfect place for boating and fishing.
If you are somewhere along the Gulf of Mexico, then you will truly have found one of the world’s most amazing places for exploration. Florida’s Panhandle offer some of the best fishing in the world, enabling you to catch the King Mackerel, Wahoo, shark, and Blue Marlin to name but a few. If you are in the Tampa area or to its south, there are lots of keys and islands that you can dock at. Consider for instance, Anna Maria Island, Sanibel, Marco Island, or Long Boat Key to name but a few. These are great spots for boating but also to get on land and enjoy some dining, shopping, and sightseeing.
Central Florida, meanwhile, is more popular with people who like theme parks. That said, there are also some bodies of fresh water and rivers where you can boat and fish. Consider Lake George and St. Johns River, for instance. Both have excellent fishing spots and the natural area is like nothing you have ever seen before. Consider Silver Glen, where you can also swim and even snorkel.
The east coast of the state, meanwhile, allows you access to the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) and the Atlantic Ocean. Some people actually travel along the ICW to enter Florida. There are also some excellent fishing and boating spots, as well as tourist spots. Consider Ft. Lauderdale, Daytona, St. Augustine, and Jacksonville, to name but a few, where there is also plenty to do on land, while also having lots of fishing and boating opportunity.
Then, there is the southeast of Florida, where the lifestyle is more Caribbean than anything else. Don’t miss Peanut Island and the Biscayne Bay. The latter is just 20 miles south of Miami, so very easy to reach if you have rented a boat in Miami. Here is where you will find Biscayne National Park. Diving and snorkeling is absolutely fantastic here, and it also has a very interesting history, with the area’s economy having been built on peanut oil.
Last but not least, there are the Florida Keys, which have a global reputation. Interestingly, there are very few beaches there, which is why they are perfect for boating because you will have a comfortable space to enjoy the weather. The aquamarine waters are what the Keys are all about, and it is also a very popular place for people who like to go fishing.
Regardless of where in Florida you travel to with a boat rental, you are guaranteed to find things that you will enjoy doing, whether it is on your boat or on land.
